Cabo de Gata's Most Iconic Beach

Mónsul is probably the most photographed and recognisable beach in the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park. With its 400 metres of fine, golden sand, this unspoilt beach owes its international fame to being the setting for films such as "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" and "The NeverEnding Story".

Its most distinctive feature is "La Peineta de Mónsul", a large volcanic rock that emerges in the middle of the beach, creating a unique landscape. Next to it, the Great Dune offers spectacular panoramic views of the entire bay, making it one of the most sought-after spots to watch the sunset.
