Playa Cala de los Amarillos

Cala de los Amarillos is an intimate beach, sheltered by volcanic rock formations. Its location, accessible on foot from Los Genoveses cove, provides a tranquil atmosphere and a strong connection with the natural environment. Nudism is common here, reinforcing its character as a refuge for those seeking freedom. The surrounding landscape is typical of the Natural Park, with native vegetation and distinctive rock formations.

How to Get There

The main access to Cala de los Amarillos is on foot from Los Genoveses cove. From San José, take the road towards Mónsul and Genoveses beaches. Once at the Genoveses car park (or the shuttle bus stop during high season), continue walking along a coastal path. The walk from Genoveses takes approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on your pace. The dirt track to Genoveses is generally in good condition, though it may have some uneven sections.

Parking and Facilities

There is no direct parking at Cala de los Amarillos. Vehicles must be left in the car park at Los Genoveses cove. In July and August, car access to Genoveses is restricted during the day, requiring the use of a shuttle bus from San José. The Genoveses car park charges a fee during high season (typically 5-6€). Cala de los Amarillos has no facilities or services of any kind (beach bars, showers, toilets).

Beach Characteristics

Cala de los Amarillos is a small cove, not exceeding 100-150 metres in length. The sand is mixed, with areas of fine sand and others with gravel or small stones. The swell is usually gentle, as the cove is protected by the rock formations. The waters are clear and suitable for swimming. Visitor numbers are medium to low, even in high season, due to its pedestrian access.
