Los Albaricoques
The village of Cortijo del Fraile and the story of the Níjar Crime.
Los Albaricoques is a small rural settlement known mainly for its proximity to Cortijo del Fraile, the setting for the event that inspired Federico García Lorca's work "Blood Wedding". The farmhouse, although in a state of semi-abandonment, is a regular visiting point for those interested in Spanish history and literature.
The village itself is quiet and very small in scale. The road connecting it to San José passes through an arid and volcanic landscape of great beauty, especially at sunset.
How to get to Los Albaricoques
- By car: From San José via local road, about 8 km and 12 minutes.
- Cortijo del Fraile: 2 km from the village via a dirt track. Free exterior visit.
