Playa Cala Grande is a small cove with fine golden sand, situated in a pristine natural environment between Playa de Los Genoveses and the adjacent Calas Chica and Barronal. Its landscape is characterised by native vegetation and surrounding rock formations, providing a quiet atmosphere away from the crowds. It is a suitable option for those seeking a more intimate beach experience within the Natural Park.

How to Get There

From Los Escullos, take the road towards San José. Before reaching San José, there is a signposted turn-off for the beaches of Mónsul and Genoveses. Follow this unpaved dirt track. Cala Grande is located along this track, approximately 10-15 minutes by car from Los Escullos, depending on the track's condition. The track is unpaved and can be uneven, so driving slowly is recommended.

Parking and Facilities

Parking is limited and unregulated, consisting of designated areas on the verges of the dirt track near the cove. There are no services of any kind (beach bars, showers, toilets) on the beach or in its immediate vicinity. It is a completely unspoilt beach.

Beach Characteristics

• Length: Approximately 100-150 metres.
• Sand type: Fine and golden.
• Swell: Generally calm, protected by the coastline's configuration.
• Recommended season: Spring, early summer, and September, to avoid the higher visitor numbers in July and August. The waters are clear and suitable for swimming.

What to Do

Relaxed swimming, snorkelling (the clear water allows for observation of marine life), sunbathing in a natural setting, landscape photography. It is a suitable place to unwind and enjoy nature.

• 💡 2. Take all your rubbish with you. Help maintain the beach in its natural state.
• 💡 3. Wear comfortable footwear for walking along the access track and nearby rocks.
