Playa Cala del Plomo

Cala del Plomo is a secluded beach, known for its tranquility and the exceptional quality of its water. It is characterised by a landscape of eroded fossilised dunes that flank the cove, offering a natural environment to explore. While the initial part of the beach has stones, the shoreline transforms into fine, pleasant sand. It is frequented by both naturist and textile bathers, with moderate visitor numbers in summer.

How to Get There

From the AL-5106, the road to Agua Amarga, take the turn-off towards Fernán Pérez. After approximately 700 metres, you will see a sign for Cala del Plomo; turn left here. The route then follows a dirt track for about 5 kilometres.

Parking and Facilities

There is no regulated parking or services on the beach. It is common to find some vans or caravans camped in the vicinity.

  • Sand type: Stones at the start, fine and pleasant sand near the shoreline.
  • Swell: Progressive entry into the water, generally calm, ideal for children.
  • Recommended season: Moderate visitor numbers in summer, fewer at other times.
  • Water: Exceptional quality, clean.

  • Snorkelling: The marine fauna is notable, especially near the rock formations of the fossilised dunes.
  • Exploring: The eroded walls of fossilised dunes on both sides of the cove hide numerous places to discover.
  • Swimming: Enjoy a peaceful swim in crystal-clear waters.
  • Photography: The natural landscape and fossilised dunes offer opportunities for photography.
