Playa Cala San Pedro

Cala San Pedro is an isolated beach within the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park. It is characterised by fine sand and turquoise water, a result of its clear seabed. A unique feature is the presence of inland vegetation and a natural freshwater spring, which has allowed a small community to settle here. The beach offers a striking contrast between the surrounding semi-desert landscape and the lush oasis within the cove.

How to Get There

Access to Cala San Pedro is difficult. There are two ways to reach it:

1. On foot: From Las Negras, take a path of approximately 4 km. The walk takes between 45 minutes and 1 hour, depending on pace. The path is a dirt track with some rocky sections, so appropriate footwear is recommended.

2. By boat: From the port of Las Negras, several boats offer a maritime taxi service to the cove. This is the most comfortable and quickest option, especially in summer.

Parking and Facilities

There is no direct parking at the cove. If accessing on foot, cars must be left in Las Negras. There are no public services such as showers or toilets on the beach. There is a bohemian-style bar run by the local community.
